"Don't Leave (Ne Me Quitte Pas)" is a song originally composed, performed, recorded, and released by Regina Spektor. The song originally appeared as a more stripped down version entitled "Ne Me Quitte Pas" on the 2002 release Songs, which was recorded at the Two Jews on Christmas session on 2001-12-25.
"Ne Me Quitte Pas" was performed live seven times between 2002 and 2009 before being rerecorded and released in 2011 as the more produced "Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)". The song was released as the second single of the LP What We Saw from the Cheap Seats on 2012-03-26. "Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)" was released on What We Saw on the Cheap Seats on 2012-05-29, with an official music video for the song being released shortly after on 2012-06-12. A Russian version of the song entitled ""Не Покидай Меня"" or "Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas) [Russian Version]"> was released as a single on 2012-06-29. A behind the scenes look at the making of the music video was uploaded to YouTube a few months later.
After the release of the new version, "Don't Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)" became a regular feature of Regina's live sets until 2018. In 2019, versions more akin to the more stripped down "Ne Me Quitte Pas" were performed twice, and no version of the song has been performed since.
Note that the song has no bearing to the 1959 song by Jacques Brel other than sharing a title..
