Studio 360 (WNYC)

June 26, 2009

Description:

Regina Spektor talks with Kurt Andersen about her new album Far, reflecting on its spiritual and religious themes, which she realized only after sequencing the album. She discusses her family's emigration from Russia due to anti-Semitism and her experience growing up in the Bronx. Regina also touches on her love for songwriting, which she compares to writing "three-minute novels," and performs two songs live: "Laughing With" and "Folding Chair." She shares her love for New York City but notes how touring allows her to appreciate it more fully.
